Monday Sept 14th at 12:30 pm: Elimination Communication(EC) and Breastfeeding
Maybe you've heard about EC in the news or saw a baby using a potty or
wearing training pants at a La Leche League meeting and you've
wondered what it's all about. This session will discuss what EC is and
isn't, some simple ways to fit it into your parenting practice, and
how EC fits with breastfeeding. Many parents find that learning a few
simple EC techniques can even help with breastfeeding.

Monday Sept 28th at 12:30 pm : LLL at Lizzy's Breastfeeding Cafe
Hang out and chat with other mothers. Breastfeeding questions are welcome.

Monday Oct. 5th at 12:30 pm : Demystifying the Preschool Application Process
When a baby is first born needs are immediate and baby focused-
getting breastfeeding off to a great start, getting some sleep,
getting everyday things done while juggling a new baby. When a mother
finally raises her head to see what is ahead she often discovers she's
missed some opportunities simply because she didn't know they were
there. Rebecca Blake, the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at
Lexington Montessori, will discuss the differences between daycares
and preschools, the different preschool pedagogies you might
encounter, when to apply for preschool, and how to choose a program
and transition your child while taking his or her needs into
consideration.

This brown bag lecture will include a discussion of the La Leche
League core Philosophies:

- "In the early years the baby has an intense need to be with his
mother which is as basic as his need for food."

- "From infancy on, children need loving guidance which reflects
acceptance of their capabilities and sensitivity to their feelings."

Monday Oct 26th at 12:30 pm : Halloween Party- Come in costumes and enjoy some Lizzy's treats.
