LLL of Massachusetts

La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Only accredited La Leche League Leaders are authorized to represent and/or speak for La Leche League International.

Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI

The La Leche League International mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

LLL of Quincy-Milton

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information.

Meeting Information

LLL of Quincy-Milton offers a regular Series Meeting at 7:30 pm on the third Wednesday of each month Roche Brothers Supermarkets, Community Room, 2nd Floor, 101 Falls Blvd., Quincy (As you enter the store, please use the elevator on your left).

Our monthly meetings cover the following topics:

  • The Benefits of Breastfeeding
  • At Home with Your New Baby
  • The Normal Course of Breastfeeding- Avoiding and Overcoming Difficulties
  • Weaning and Nutrition

Toddler meetings are also offered at the First Parish Church in Milton. For additional information and directions regarding either meeting, please contact one of the local Leaders listed below.

First Parish Church in Milton: 535 Canton Ave., Milton, MA 617-698-6329
Approach from the west (from Rte. 128, a.k.a. Rte. 95/93) Take Route 28 Milton exit (also known as Randolph Ave). Follow Rte. 28 Milton/Boston signs and bear left at St. Elizabeth's church. The road will bend and then you will come to an intersection with traffic lights. Milton Library will be on your left. Turn left at these lights (this is Canton Ave) and the First Parish church is the second white church on your right (after the town hall). Turn right after the church at the blinking light onto Thatcher Street. Turn right on Station Street and enter the side door of the church link building where you see the La Leche League sign.

Approach from the east (from I-93 South, Southeast Expressway, a.k.a. Rte. 3 S) Traveling south (from Boston), take Exit 10, Squantum Street, Milton. Bear right off exit and come around to a stop sign. Turn right onto Adams Street. Follow for 2/10 of a mile until you come to a light. Turn left at the light onto Centre Street. Follow for 1.6 miles, through three lights (the second light is at Milton Academy). At the third light, go straight through. Centre Street becomes Canton Avenue. The Milton Public Library is on your left. On your right you will see one white church, then the town gazebo on the green, and then First Parish (white with black shutters). Travel past the church and turn right at the blinking yellow light onto Thatcher Street. Take the next street on your right, this is Engine Road and park in the upper parking area and enter the side door where you see the LLL sign.

Leader Information

La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.

At this time we are unable to provide personal breastfeeding help via e-mail. For answers to your questions by e-mail, you can use the LLLI Help Form, and you will receive a reply from an accredited volunteer LLL Leader within a week.
