La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Only accredited La Leche League Leaders are authorized to represent and/or speak for La Leche League International. Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI The La Leche League International mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Meeting Information LLL Highlands offerstwo monthly Group meetings: One on the first Thursdayof the month, 7:00 pm, at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2233 Woodbourne Ave. (Turn onto Woodbourne opposite Bardstown Road from the Highlands Kroger. Enter through the door just off the parking lot, next to the playground. Meeting room is the nursery just ahead of you.) The second Group meeting is on the third Tuesday at 12:00 noon, at Mama's Hip on Bardstown Road. Our monthly meetings cover the following topics:
Leader Information La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
