La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed. Only accredited La Leche League Leaders are authorized to represent and/or speak for La Leche League International. Membership in La Leche League International is $40 for one year. Membership fees help to support your local Group and the international organization. The benefits of membership include a one-year subscription to NEW BEGINNINGS magazine and a discount on items purchased from LLLI The La Leche League International mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to call one of our Leaders for breastfeeding help or information. Meeting Information LLL of Arlington meets on the third Tuesday evening of each month, beginning promptly at 7:30 pm and ending with refreshments and socializing from 9:00 to 9:30 pm. Donations of juices and snacks for sharing are appreciated. Feel free to attend any or all of the scheduled meetings. Pregnant women are encouraged to attend; nursing infants are always welcome. If the Town of Arlington cancels school for the day, the meeting will be cancelled. Meetings are held at the Edith Fox Branch Library, 175 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington. The library's entrance is on Cleveland Street. We meet downstairs in the lounge or the Community Room. The library is on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Cleveland Street. Park on the street or take the #77 bus Harvard Station - Arlington Heights. For more details, please call a Leader listed below. LLL of Cambridge meets on the second Thursday morning of each month, beginning promptly at 10:00 am and ending with refreshments and socializing from 11:30am to 12:00 pm.. Leader Information La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
At this time we are unable to provide personal breastfeeding help via e-mail. For answers to your questions by e-mail, you can use the LLLI Help Form, and you will receive a reply from an accredited volunteer LLL Leader within a week. Items for sale: La Leche League's classic book, THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING ($16.95 + tax), and Over The Shoulder Baby Holder baby slings ($35.00 + tax) are available for sale. We also sell tie-dye infant and children clothing and doll slings. All proceeds benefit LLL of Arlington and Cambridge.
