Meals

The meal package includes nine meals plus a dessert reception:
  • Thursday-Saturday breakfast & lunch, Thursday and Saturday dinner; and Sunday brunch. This is included in each administrator’s registration fee.
  • Dinner on Wednesday is not part of the meal package, but can be purchased separately on the registration form for $40 adults and $20 children.
  • No dinner arrangements have been made with the hotel for Friday evening.
  • A child’s meal package for ages 3 to 12 is available for $148 and will include the same meals as the administrator package, however menus will vary and will include a vegetarian option. Children’s meals must be ordered individually on the registration form.
  • Children under 3 may eat free but must register and have a ticket to do so.
  • Additional meals for accompanying adults or older children must also be purchased individually ($295 adult package or $148 child package). Seating can only be guaranteed for those with meal tickets.

Menus
Menu choices are subject to change. However, a choice of meat or vegetarian will be available at every meal. Lunch and dinner menus include salad, rolls and butter, beverage, and entree. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate specific needs on the registration form.

Location
Kaleidoscope will be held at the Philadelphia Airport Hilton, located just off I-95, adjacent to the Philadelphia International Airport. This central location is 90 minutes from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and New York City and only 75 minutes from Atlantic City. Downtown Historic Philadelphia, just seven miles from the hotel, offers many opportunities for sightseeing including Freedom Hall, the Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, the site of the home of Benjamin Franklin, and the house where Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag. If amusement parks are more your style, Sesame Place is located approximately 30 miles away. Shopping and restaurants are located just minutes from the Hilton.

Hotel Accommodations & Reservations
Administrators are responsible for making their own reservations. Spacious guest rooms featuring the Hilton Serenity Collection, complimentary high-speed Internet and more, two double beds, or one king-sized bed are available at $119 plus 14% tax per night. There is no charge for children 18 years and under. $10 fee for more than two adults per room; maximum of four allowed. Between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, call the Hilton at 215-365-4150; after 5 pm call 800-445-8667 and specify “La Leche League;” or click here  to book your room using the online code “LAL.” Deadline for the special discounted room rate is June 8, 2009.

Shuttle Service
Complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport is available 24 hours a day. After you arrive at baggage claim and collect your bags, locate the courtesy phone for the Hilton Philadelphia Airport; dial 10 and tell the operator which terminal you are in. Wait outside at Zone 4 for the hotel shuttle to arrive.

Traveling South on I-95: (From Philadelphia & New Jersey): Follow I-95 South through Philadelphia to Exit #15 (Enterprise Avenue / Island Avenue). The exit ramp will place you onto Enterprise Avenue. Follow Enterprise Avenue to the Dead End and turn right onto Island Avenue. Follow Island Avenue ½ mile, and the hotel will be on the right.

Traveling North on I-95: (From Baltimore): Follow I-95 North to Exit #13 / Valley Forge (I-76W) onto Penrose Avenue (PA-291 W) toward #31 / Island Avenue. Driver 1.5 miles and turn left on Island Avenue, hotel is ½ mile down on the left.

I-76 East: (Schuylkill Expressway from Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Turnpike): Follow I-76 East through Philadelphia to Exit 347A (Route 291 Penrose Avenue). Follow this long exit to the 1st traffic light (Penrose Avenue) and turn right. Travel over the George Platt Bridge and stay in the left-hand lane for the Island Avenue exit. At the first traffic light (Island Avenue), turn left. The hotel is on the left.

Refund Policy
General—All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the registrar. Requests for refunds postmarked by June 30 are subject to a $20 processing fee. No refunds will be given after June 30.

Smoking & Stroller Policies
No smoking is permitted within the hotel. Stroller Permits will be issued only in the following circumstances: a pregnant mother with an attending toddler, a mother with twins, or if mother or child is in some way physically challenged. Due to safety precautions, no strollers will otherwise be allowed. Please mark the appropriate box on your registration form if you fall into one of these categories.

Supervision of Children
To assure the security of your children, please supervise them at all times. Caregivers must be of an appropriate age. A children’s play space will NOT be provided. Please bring along safe toys and activities to keep your children busy and happy.

What to Bring
Casual wear is appropriate for the seminar. The seminar area is air-conditioned, so a sweater or jacket is suggested for you and your baby. You might also need:

  • Baby carrier or backpack
  • Diapers
  • Quiet toys—those your child won’t mind sharing or losing
  • Snacks; special foods
  • Small blanket for your baby to play on the floor
