La Leche League International, LLLI Eastern United States, The American Academy of Pediatrics, and The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists cosponsor this Seminar for Physicians to provide education in effective lactation management using a variety of techniques and approaches.
The American Academy of Family Physicians is participating as a Cooperating Organization. This two-day intensive Seminar covers the latest breastfeeding research and features a faculty of experts in the fields of lactation and family health care. The information presented at this Seminar will enable physicians and other healthcare providers to provide the education and support necessary to facilitate successful and fulfilling breastfeeding experiences for their patients.

La Leche League International has a Health Advisory Council which consists of 50 professionals in the areas of pediatrics, obstetrics, allergy, nutrition, psychology, family practice, and other related fields. The Council is consulted on medical problems and evaluations of new research. All La Leche League materials of a medical nature are approved by appropriate consultants before publication. Complementing the Health Advisory Council are local physicians throughout the world who serve as Medical Associates of La Leche League International. Medical Associate membership is $150.
